About us - what we do
ChildSpeech provides intervention which is grounded in a solid evidence base of effectiveness.
We are a team of experienced Speech and Language Therapists. We each have different specialist skills, knowledge, experience and interests. If you choose to work with us, we will match your child with a therapist with skills and experience in the area they need. Our therapists’ specialisms include stammering, autism, autism assessment, early intervention with preschool children, developmental language disorder (DLD), selective mutism and speech sound disorders.
Our founder
Professor Yvonne Wren
Professor Yvonne Wren founded ChildSpeech in 2010. Yvonne has worked as a speech and language therapist within the NHS for over twenty years. During this time, she has worked with both pre-school and school aged children with a range of speech, language and communication difficulties including speech sound disorder, language delay, developmental language disorder, learning difficulties and autistic spectrum disorder.
Yvonne is also Director of the Bristol Speech & Language Therapy Research Unit at North Bristol NHS Trust and is an Professor at both the University of Bristol and Cardiff Met.
